Maybe, really, "you can't pronounce punctuation"?

Then come back here and tell me--how would YOU pronounce the ditto mark?

I've heard of programmers calling the ditto mark "tick tick."
That sounds good. And I can imagine those folks needing to pronounce all sorts of unpronounceable symbols.
I was sort of imagining a clicking of the tongue against the teeth (the way we "call the cat" at home)
