I'd have left it in.
I agree it is not needed but in this case I think the comma would make it a bit more clear for those who have had too much unregulated soda.

Well, since you asked, today it's hamburgers at my desk, left over from the first barbecue of the season yesterday.
If most or all soda siphons are pressure-regulated as a matter of course, take out the comma. If not, leave it in.
I think all soda siphons work on pressure.
