Comma, No Comma

(I promise, I think of other things, too--I'll post about them eventually.)

Today my freelance copyeditor inserted a comma:

At this A-list, oceanfront beach bar

I don't like it. What do you think?

(wait--I think the bar is probably fine--it's the comma I don't like)

Frankly, I'd take a B-list oceanfront beach bar at this point.

I'd nix that comma, too.

Listen, I'll take a C-list oceanfront beach bar!

It's very funny--this travel piece has TONS of "Comma, No Comma" opportunities.

There seems to be a bit of redundancy in 'oceanfront' and 'beach bar'. Yes, I know you can have oceans without beaches and beaches on lakes, but still...

I'd just take a bar. Or a pub. Yes, a pub. Good idea, me. See you later!

And you can have bars on the oceanfront that don't actually touch the beach--there's sidewalk or something.
